What is lead response time and why does it matter?
Lead response time is the gap between a prospect showing interest — a form fill, text, or call — and your business making first contact. It matters because that interest is time-limited: someone actively comparing options right now converts far more easily than the same person a day later, once the moment has passed.
It's a useful number to actually track, not just intuit, because owners tend to remember the leads they closed and forget the ones that went cold waiting for a reply — which makes the real average response time look faster in memory than it actually is.
